The Drayers contacted me in 2007 desiring to upgrade the bedroom wing of the house. The minimal existing Master Bath room and inadequate storage and closet space were the focus of the project. The Drayers desired to have a more open and light filled Dressing and Bath area and to have the facilities brought up to contemporary standards. To accomplish this the existing Bath was demolished. The new Master Bath addition was oriented directly South to reinforce its relationship with the sun. The raised the roof allowed for the addition of clearstory windows on the East facing wall to let in the morning light. The ensured privacy provided by the orientation allowed each area a shaded full height window facing West.
