525 Overview

The property at 525 Colony Road, Geyserville, California has undergone four separate remodelings by my office: the Drayer “Barn”, completed in 2005, Drayer Kitchen Remodel, also completed in 2005, Drayer Bedroom Wing Addition and Remodel, completed in 2008 and the Zadno Addition and Interior and Exterior Remodeling, completed in 2011.

The Drayers first contacted my office in 2002. At that time they wanted to remodel their Kitchen and Dining rooms in the residence. Additionally, they had an accessory building on the property that had been most recently used as a storage facility. From what the Drayers had been told by the previous owners, the steel frame accessory building had an unusual history. It started out as a repair garage facility in Santa Rosa run by the original owner of the house. When he retired he dismantled it and moved it to 525 Colony Road and reassembled it under an agricultural use building permit. The Drayers needed to have office, exercise and sauna facilities. Along with these functions, they desired sleeping and entertainment facilities for their frequent family guests from Holland.

The Drayers again contacted me in 2007, desiring to upgrade the bedroom wing of the house. The Master Bedroom facilities were minimal; a single sink on a 3’ counter in the Master Bath and inadequate closet space. They also wished to increase the size of the second and third bedrooms along with the accompanying bath.

In 2010 the Drayers wanted to sell their home to move closer to their children in Southern California. Reza and Martine Zadno entered escrow to purchase the home contingent on the ability to build an addition to the Living Room. My office was contacted during the escrow period. I was given the task of satisfying the county requirements and getting the “green light” for the addition in order to complete the purchase.
